Bad Crafts Gives Back

This year, Bad Crafts is giving back to the community by donating 25+ handmade toys and other holiday gifts to Next Door Solutions, a local nonprofit supporting survivors of domestic violence.

  • Next Door Solutions (NDS) is the only stand-alone domestic violence agency in Santa Clara County, and the largest provider of these services.

    Domestic violence is the most prevalent form of gender-based violence, often the most frequently reported crime to law enforcement, and arguably the one with the greatest damaging effect on children and youth. NDS is the only stand-alone, domestic violence agency in Santa Clara County, answering approximately 15,000 crisis calls and serving an average of 3,000 survivors of domestic violence annually. Their comprehensive, compassionate, bilingual services are available free of charge to all women, men, LGBTQ and individuals across the gender spectrum and of varying abilities.

How You Can Help

  • Create a new, handmade toy using your preferred medium (knit, crochet, sew, etc)

    • All toys should be brand new and not previously used

    • Avoid small detachable parts

    • Feel free to use your own patterns or check out these free patterns

    A limited supply of yarn and stuffing will be available at future Bad Crafts events that can be used for this purpose.

  • If crafting isn’t in the cards for you, donations are more than welcome! All of these items will help ensure a successful Winter Open House.

    • Store bought and new stuffed animals

    • K-12 books in English, Spanish, or Vietnamese

    • Gift cards in increments of $25 to Safeway, Target, or Walmart

    Here is an optional Amazon wishlist if ordering online is an easier option. These purchases will ship directly to Mariah.

  • Share this page or our social media posts to introduce folks to Next Door Solutions and invite them to donate a toy, book, or $25 gift card. Your share could be the reason a family gets the support they need.

All donations will be accepted at any upcoming Bad Crafts event or reach out to hello@badcrafts.com to coordinate a drop off.
